Hand-painted collectible baseball card

Ferris Bueller's Day Off hit the box office in June of 1986. Director John Hughes centered many of his films in the Chicagoland area, so it's no surprise that 3 suburban teenagers skipping school on a late Spring afternoon made their way to a Cubs game. That's what I would've done!

This scene used footage from a game at Wrigley on June 5, 1985. Both Ferris and Ryne Sandberg took the day off, as backup Chris Speier played 2nd base that afternoon.

The defending NL East champs entered the day at 29-18, 1 game behind the Mets for the division lead. However, while Ferris may have been saved... injuries derailed the Cubs promising start, finishing the year in 4th place.

About my collector cards

After purchasing some old wax packs to study the size and texture of gum sticks, I developed my own paint techniques in order to replicate it. Now, I hand-paint gum stick art directly onto vintage baseball cards to create small collectibles.

Here's what you'll receive with this order

  • My original hand-painted gum onto a jumbo-sized 5x7 baseball card.
  • Each jumbo collector card is paint-marked with it's edition number.
  • Unlike my standard-sized gum cards, these jumbos are signed by me (next to the edition number).
  • These art cards are protected inside an acrylic magnetic desktop frame... customized with my matching Rosen signature label.
