Edible Asterisk-shaped Bubble Gum
Homemade Bubble Gum
After painting faux bubble gum for a while, it was time to finally make some real, chewable gum! I designed custom cookie-cutter shapes and purchased all of the necessary ingredients: gum base pellets, corn syrup, powdered sugar, bubble gum flavoring, and food coloring. It was one, big, sticky mess... and I don't plan on making many of these.
Naturally, I chose the asterisk... the same shape used on my earliest pieces of card art. The gum stains the card, like steroids stain a career.
Barry Bonds' record breaking 756th home run ball was purchased by fashion designer Marc Ecko for $752,467. He then defaced the ball by engraving it with an asterisk. The ball was sent to Hall of Fame as a permanent black mark on Barry's accomplishment.
