Handmade labels on recycled vinyl

Whenever I think of Dave Parker, I always picture him wearing this awesome t-shirt. In 1976, the powerhouse Pirates found themselves in a funk. So, Parker wore this shirt to the ballpark one day to help lighten the mood. The phrase is a reference from Parliament's Mothership Connection (Star Child).

If you hear any noise
It's just me and the boys
Hittin' that (groovin')
You gotta hit the band

The A-side of the album is decorated with the t-shirt design, made from layered vinyl, while the B-side is made with his Parker's 1980 Topps Jumbo. I've used the funky yellow and red colored-vinyl from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, although the sounds of P-Funk are not on this record.

About Junk Wax Records

In 1980, Fleer won a 5-year long monopolization lawsuit vs Topps, opening up the baseball card market for competition. Throughout the decade, production increased and boxes of wax packs filled the shelves of new hobby shops across America.

Before a record album is pressed onto vinyl, it first gets mastered, or cut, on wax. Junk Wax Records is a mashup of iconic cards from this era and recycled 12-inch LPs. My Junk Wax logo is inspired by the Fleer crown, as their court battle flipped this industry upside down.
