A Guest Artist Original
A baseball card mirror celebrating the Fleer set and update series from 1989.
As of 2020, 37 Hall of Fame players are in these sets and all of them are featured here on this frame.
The 1989 Fleer set was beautiful and unique with its gray, pinstriped background. It infamously included the Bill Ripken error card, which I have partially included on the right side of the frame.
Constructed in Fort Collins, Colorado
Each 28" diameter frame is made from 3/4" thick Baltic birch plywood (stained and lacquered), and consists of approximately 60 genuine baseball cards.
In an effort to keep the cards "cleanable", I have applied 4 coats of lacquer, while retaining their original sheen. The mirror itself is 11 1/2" diameter and 1/8" thick. It ships ready to hang, with a metal keyhole hanger in the back.
About Matthew Lee Rosen's Guest Artist Shops
Topps Project 2020 has inspired a growing number of hobbyists to create their own card art. To provide them with support, I'm inviting artists to build their own guest shop! I lend my expertise to mentor and guide them along the way... my ultimate vision is to curate a mini-marketplace for card-inspired artwork.
