1991 Topps Lee Smith (Gum Stick)
Hand-painted collectible baseball card
Lee Smith entered the Hall of Fame wearing a Chicago Cubs cap. It's the cap he donned for the first 8 seasons of his long 18-year career as one of the game's premier closers. However, he happened to be wearing the red cap of the rival St. Louis Cardinals in 1991, when he saved a personal best 47 games. As a life-long Cubs fan, this fact is bittersweet... like finding a stick of gum stuck to card.
About my collector cards
After purchasing some old wax packs to study the size and texture of gum sticks, I developed my own paint techniques in order to replicate it. Now, I hand-paint gum stick art directly onto vintage baseball cards to create small collectibles.
Here's what you'll receive with this order
- My original hand-painted gum onto a baseball card.
- Each collector card is paint-marked with the number produced.
- These art cards are protected inside an Ultra Pro One Touch magnetic card holder... customized with my Rosen signature.
I'm maintaining a growing checklist of the cards I've painted for your reference. It details what cards are available for purchase, and which ones are owned by collectors. Collectors can reference my complete checklist.
