Hand-painted collectible baseball card
Joe DiMaggio's 56-game hitting streak began on May 15, 1941, and ended July 17th. Joltin' Joe hit .408 during the streak (91-for-223), with 15 home runs and 55 RBI. To this day, his record streak is deemed unbreakable. Pete Rose has come the closest... with a 44-game streak of his own in 1978.
DiMaggio missed the 1943-45 seasons while serving in World War II. Shortly after the war, Bazooka bubble gum was introduced by the Topps Company of Brooklyn, New York. As our men returned home, DiMaggio remained the face of the sport.
In 1986, Don Mattingly gave it a good run for 24 games (August 30th to September 26th). Mattingly finished with a career high 238 hits that season, leading the majors. His '87 Topps All-Star card lists the hit leaders from '86.
This gum card features additional vinyl material for the Bazooka lettering, and matching Ultra Pro card holder.
About my collector cards
After purchasing some old wax packs to study the size and texture of gum sticks, I developed my own paint techniques in order to replicate it. Now, I hand-paint bubble gum directly onto vintage baseball cards to create small collectibles.
Here's what you'll receive with this order
- My original hand-painted gum onto a baseball card.
- Each collector card is paint-marked with it's edition number.
- These art cards are protected inside an Ultra Pro One Touch magnetic card holder... customized with my matching Rosen signature label.
- I do not sign these cards by request. However, your package will include bonus items personally autographed by me.
