Hand-made collectible baseball card

Only 4 players in Major League history have reached the 40–40 club... by hitting 40 home runs and stealing 40 bases in a single season. Jose Canseco became the first to achieve this in 1988, after predicting it in April. The other 3 players are Barry Bonds, Alex Rodriguez, and Alfonso Soriano. Canseco is the only one among the group to win the MVP Award in the same season, helping the A's reach the World Series.

Jose's 1989 Upper Deck team card features artwork painted by Vernon Wells Jr. (father of former player Vernon Wells III), depicting Canseco both hitting and stealing. The pattern I've made is in the form of a slash for the 40/40.

About my hologram collector cards

Upper Deck launched in 1989 as the first premium baseball card brand, using white glossy stock, fancy graphics... and holographic materials! So, I'm using my own holographic materials to re-design these vintage cards. The focus on these designs is repetitive pattern making, which conveys the massive overproduction of cards Upper Deck printed during the height of the boom.

Here's what you'll receive with this order

  • My original hand-made holographic designs onto a baseball card.
  • These art cards are protected inside an Ultra Pro One Touch magnetic card holder... customized with my matching holographic Rosen signature label.
  • Each collector card is also marked with an edition number.
  • I do not sign these cards by request. However, your package will include bonus items, personally autographed by me.
