"Homer at the Bat" (Season 3, Episode 17) is an all-time Simpsons classic, and has been an inspiration for several pieces of my Gum Card art. This series features a 1959 Topps design, chosen for its donut-shaped circle composition. These are printed onto a wax-like paper, mimicking the lining found inside a donut box... and they're covered with sprinkles!

When the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant softball team makes it to the championship game, Mr. Burns bets them big to win... and brings in nine ringers: Strawberry, Clemens, Boggs, Griffey, Canseco, Mattingly, Scioscia, Steve Sax and Ozzie Smith.

Trouble for all the players ensues: Griffey suffers from a rare case of Gigantism after drinking a strength tonic. Mr Burns constantly pesters Mattingly to shave his non-existent sideburns. Bart and Lisa heckle Strawberry, Scioscia gets sick from working at the Nuclear Power Plant, and Ozzie Smith goes missing when he does some sight-seeing at the Springfield Mystery Spot.

Batting doughnut not included... photographed to highlight the overall concept. Your sprinkles will ship with a companion donut drawing card... signed.

Sprinkles are plastic. Do not attempt to eat them!
