Hand-painted collectible baseball card
Game 1 of the 1988 World Series had a most memorable, improbable, and magical ending. With Vin Scully on the call, Hollywood couldn't have written a script better than this.
Trailing 4-3 in the bottom of the 9th with 2 outs, and HOF closer Dennis Eckersley on the hill... Tommy Lasorda rolled the dice and sent Kirk Gibson in to pinch hit. The immobile Gibson was on ailing on the bench with a bad knee and hamstring.
Eckersley was in the beginning of his dominant run with 45 saves that year, and hadn't allowed a HR since August 24th. After working a 3-2 count, and allowing the tying run (Mike Davis) to steal second base... it happened.
About my collector cards
After purchasing some old wax packs to study the size and texture of gum sticks, I developed my own paint techniques in order to replicate it. Now, I hand-paint gum stick art directly onto vintage baseball cards to create small collectibles.
Here's what you'll receive with this order
- My original hand-painted gum onto a jumbo-sized 5x7 baseball card.
- Each jumbo collector card is paint-marked with it's edition number.
- Unlike my standard-sized gum cards, these jumbos are signed by me (next to the edition number).
- These art cards are protected inside an acrylic magnetic desktop frame... customized with my matching Rosen signature label.
