Rollie Fingers Camouflage
Hand-painted collectible baseball card
Hall of Fame reliever Rollie Fingers was a member of the United States Army Reserve for 6 years... and served as the Padres closer for 4 seasons. Seems he was destined for the relief role.
The city of San Diego is home to a large military population... with Navy, Coast Guard and Marine bases all nearby. In 1996, the Padres became the first national sports team to have an annual military appreciation event. Four years later, they became the first to wear camouflage.
The original jerseys, were made in 2000 with a "Jungle Camo” design, fashioned after Vietnam. They've since been updated over the years, and are traditionally worn for all Sunday home games... as well as on Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day.
About my collector cards
After purchasing some old wax packs to study the size and texture of gum sticks, I developed my own paint techniques in order to replicate it. Now, I hand-paint bubble gum directly onto vintage baseball cards to create small collectibles.
Here's what you'll receive with this order
- My original hand-painted gum onto a baseball card.
- Each collector card is paint-marked with it's edition number.
- These art cards are protected inside an Ultra Pro One Touch magnetic card holder... customized with my matching Rosen signature label.
- I do not sign these cards by request. However, your package will include bonus items personally autographed by me.
